Our Values

In today’s global economy, Container ships, tankers, and other cargo vessels move more than 90% of the world’s trade. Naval fleets protect our nation’s interest. The cruise industry and the fishing industry each generate hundreds of billions of dollars in annual economic impact. Cable ships connect the world with robust telecommunications networks. Offshore oil, gas, and wind platforms power nations. And research vessels help us better understand our seas and our planet.

At Horizon, we serve all these fleets and more. You keep the world moving. We help you get it done.

U.S. Military Mission Support Vessel

U.S. Military Mission Support Vessels

Military Sealift Command (MSC) vessels move, pre-position, and replenish military cargo used by deployed U.S. Armed Forces.

Horizon helps ensure these vessels are always fully operational and ready to respond to the military’s time-sensitive demands.

Container ship in the ocean

Container Ships

Container ships transport the standardized containers that carry the majority of the goods the world consumes on a daily basis.

Horizon’s global logistics services enable these vessels to operate efficiently and reliably, ensuring the continuous flow of commerce and the goods that businesses rely on worldwide.

Tanker in a body of water

Tankers

Tankers are specifically designed to carry liquids in bulk, such as oil, liquid natural gas (LNG), liquid petroleum gas (LPG), and chemicals.

In 1991, Horizon opened an office in Houston, Texas, a strategic decision that has positioned us as one of the leading logistics service providers for tankers throughout the Gulf of Mexico.

Cruise Ships

Luxury passenger ships are designed for entertainment and relaxation, but providing hospitality at sea requires logistical solutions more various and complex than those of the typical cargo vessel.

Horizon offers specialized and centralized cruise ship solutions for cruise lines’ hospitality and technical departments. We deliver all technical parts, and we manage the supply chain for food and beverage items that require temperature-controlled facilities and transport.

Roll-on/roll-off vessel

Roll-On/Roll-Off Vessels (Ro-Ros)

Ro-Ros are vessels designed to transport all types of wheeled cargo, including personal, commercial, and military vehicles as well as all cargo transportable on Mafi trailers.

Horizon keeps Ro-Ros supplied and sailing as they move the cargo that keeps us all moving.

Heavy lift/General cargo ship

Heavy Lift/General Cargo Ships

Heavy lift and general cargo ships can accommodate a wide range of cargo, from standard containers, to bulk grain, to oversized project cargo such as power plant parts, windmill blades, cranes parts, and more. Heavy lift vessels are the only way to move the massive cargo needed for some of the world’s most ambitious construction projects.

Wherever in the world these ships are, Horizon delivers what they need to keep the world growing.

Bulk carrier.

Bulk Carriers

Bulk carriers are designed to accommodate large amounts of dry cargo such as grain, coal, or iron ore. They are categorized into six types: small, handysize, handymax, panamax, capesize, and very large.

But no matter how large or small they are, Horizon provides bulk carriers with whatever they need to deliver the raw materials of the global economy.

Offshore vessel and rig

Offshore Vessels and Rigs

Offshore vessels (commonly referred to as OSVs) supply and service drill rigs, which keep the energy sector flowing.

Horizon provides logistical support for the interdependent needs of both rigs and OSVs, positioning us as a uniquely critical component of the offshore industry.

Specialty vessel

Specialty Vessels

Specialty vessels include tugs, towing vessels, barges, carriers, pilot boats, and more. They are workboats that perform vital services throughout the world’s inland waterways.

And whether they’re sailing the Great Lakes, navigating rivers, or moving goods along canals, Horizon is there to keep them equipped for their demanding work.

Research vessel.

Research Vessels

These special ships help us better understand our planet by conducting critical research at sea. Some of the most common types of research vessels are seismic vessels, hydrographic vessels, and oceanographic vessels.

The remote locations in which these vessels operate make logistical support particularly challenging. That’s why they rely on Horizon to support them as they continue their scientific missions uninterrupted.

Fishing vessel

Fishing Vessels

These vessels collect fish for the commercial fishing industry, which helps feed the world. Most operate seasonally in some of the harshest and most remote areas of the sea.

Fishing companies turn to Horizon to deliver critical equipment to these inaccessible regions, relying on us to keep their crews safe and supplied.

Dredger.

Dredgers

Dredgers are vessels with excavation equipment that’s used for removing sand and other types of deposits from the seabed. They are used to make shallow coastal areas navigable, to deepen ports to accommodate larger vessels, for deep-sea mining, and for other purposes.

Horizon gets specialized equipment and supplies to dredgers, wherever they are, so that they can open the way for the many ships that follow.

Shipyard.

Shipyards

Marine construction sites are used for a variety of large-scale maritime projects such as shipbuilding, ship repair, and mandatory inspections. Shipyard operation is expensive, and deadlines have to be met consistently in order to keep budgets in line. Shipyards also depend on reliable procurement and transport of oversized equipment.

Horizon’s project cargo expertise provides highly specialized transportation solutions for shipyards around the world.

Other industries: trucks, trains, planes, ships, etc.

Other Industries

Horizon specializes in the unique requirements of marine logistics, but we serve many customers in other industries that have urgent shipping needs: pharmaceuticals and medical devices, high-value perishable items, the entertainment industry, urgent automotive or electronic parts, and more.

Whatever industry you’re in, if you need something moved quickly, we expedite time-sensitive shipments from anywhere, to anywhere, all around the globe.

Testimonials

“Horizon once chartered a Lufthansa flight from Germany to Singapore to get a main engine shaft to one of our ships. We were losing five figures a day with our customer while the ship was idled. It was a very time-sensitive shipment, and Horizon saved us a lot of money.”

Kevin DreschPurchasing Manager, Sealift, Inc.

“Horizon has been in the marine industry for over 50 years and is trusted to get our shipments on-deck and on-time. We are very excited to bring on additional support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in our efforts to provide superior support to owners.”

Justin KnightDirector of Operations, Ecochlor

“Thank you for the hard work. It has been seamless for us. I haven’t seen any shipping disruptions with the exception of cancelled flights, which is beyond your control.”
